Founder and President of ASA in Bangladesh, one of the largest and most successful MFIs in the world. Besides, he is, amongst others, the Chairman of the Asia Pacific Development Cooperation
based in Kuala Lumpur; Steering Committee Member of a
global best practitioners Microfinance Network based in
Washington; Member of the Board of INAFI (International
Network of Alternative Financial Institutions); Member
of the Policy Advisory Group of the Consultative Group
to Assist the Poorest (CGAP)/World Bank; and Team Leader of
the International Technical Service Providers (ITSP) of
UNDP MicroStart Program for the Philippines and Nigeria.
Before founding ASA in 1979, he served
in one of the Rural Development Academies under the
Government of Bangladesh as a trainer. Mr.
Choudhury holds a Masters Degree in Sociology from
Dhaka University.

Founder and Managing Director of Sequoia, an independent
international corporate finance advisory and private
equity firm. Before founding Sequoia in 2002, Mr.
Brouwer worked for more than 7 years at Merrill Lynch in
London, where he was Managing Director and Head of
Benelux Investment Banking, and prior to this he worked
for more than seven years in mergers & acquisitions,
leveraged buyouts and private equity at PaineWebber in
London and New York. In his capacity of Managing
Director of Sequoia, Mr. Brouwer has advised on various
assignments, with a combined transaction value of close
to USD 4 billion.
Mr. Brouwer holds a Masters Degree in
Economics from the Erasmus University of Rotterdam and a
Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from Stanford
University, California.
